If your child is a slow reader, then extend the time you give him or her. You don’t want to cause them stress or punish them because they can’t read the book as fast as you’d like. The point of the home school reading program is to make reading fun. Make the goals easy on them or they may come to resent reading, which goes against everything you’re trying to do.
