Purchasing High Definition Receivers
Once you have purchased your HDTV antenna you need to check your HDTV tuner, as ensuring that your built-in HDTV tuner is the first step before any HDTV antenna purchase. Without an HDTV tuner OTA HDTV broadcasts are not able to be translated and decoded into legible pictures. Televisions that are equipped with internal tuners may be more expensive than one that lacks the tuner, but yet at the same time they are still less expensive than having to purchase an external HDTV tuner that may or may not work as well as the internal variety.
Keep in mind that when it comes to high definition receivers options, there are plenty of options in the market, but you tend to get what you paid for and so it is important that you do your homework before you buy.
