Hearing Protection and Prevention
A lot of people worked in factories and spent their days in an environment which was louder than the OSHA-prescribed 90 decibels or less. Many people have hearing loss and must wear a hearing aid just to hear. Now hearing protection is required for those working in areas with high noise factors, but back when grandpa was a boy, back in the time of Rosie the Riveter, there were no hearing protection standards in place. Young people who work in environments they feel are louder than they want to listen to day in and day out should take the initiative to wear hearing protection even if it isn’t required. This is also a good idea when listening to loud music.
