New Year’s Resolution 2010: Quit Drinking Alcohol

Happy New Years! As you are recovering from your new year’s eve festivities you may be thinking that you drank too much last night, again… If drinking alcohol has become a problem for you, it’s an excellent time to make a decision to do something different. Drinking alcohol can be habit-forming. There are both mental and physical components of alcohol addiction that can be hard to beat. Physically, going through alcohol detoxification is no fun if you have accustomed yourself to drinking regularly. The physical symptoms of withdrawal can be serious and you may want to consider going to a medically supervised drug and alcohol rehab program to help you stop your alcohol addiction problem entirely. However, in-patient alcohol treatment is not for everyone. It can be expensive and take time away from work. Depending on how serious your drinking problem is, and what you can afford, you may be able to get easy stop drinking help from a local drug and alcohol counselor or AA. Whatever method you choose to help you stop drinking, make sure that you do get help. 2010 can be the year you give up alcohol for good!
