How to Start Writing a Book
Many authors dread facing a blank page. When debating with themselves how to start writing a book, they’ll play games with themselves trying to get into the right creative mood. But while there are, in fact, certain moods which are more conducive for writing, the professional author cannot afford to wait for these moods to just happen by themselves. In fact, if he’s looking for inspiration, the possibility of not getting his next paycheck should be inspiration enough.
It’s a fantasy to believe that professional writers wait for inspiration. Writers, just like workers in any other profession, often have to work when they’re not in the mood. They simply start writing. The simple act of putting pen to paper will, more often than not, energize the creative juices all by itself.
