Saving Money Helps the Environment

Many people are feeling a strain gas prices are putting on their wallet. One way people are helping this issue is by purchasing scooters. They get up to 100 miles per gallon, as opposed to some SUV’s 8 miles per gallon, and only cost around $1000. Scooters pay for themselves within a few years, and while they are saving money they are also helping the environment.
Cars emit large number of toxins into the air, including carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxide. These chemicals make the cities smoggy and cause acid rain. Using a car to get from place to place around town can be wasteful and is often unnecessary; riding a scooter helps reduce this waste and allows you to enjoy the air and the ride to the grocery store or wherever you might be going. While scooters may be small, they come with detachable compartments that allow you to put as many groceries, books, etc. into them as you like.
Because they are so good on the environment and your wallet it is understandable that many college students are using them. Their size means that students don’t always have to buy a parking pass and they also don’t have to spend all of their money on gas. The extra money they save allows them to buy new supplies and healthier food instead of cheap instant meals.
