Mistress of the Dark Lives On With Latest Elvira Costume
Cassandra Peterson has not worn her Elvira costumes for many years now, but that look is still one of the hottest and sexiest selling costumes each year. Ms. Peterson, who must be in her 60s now, was the actress who portrayed Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, for a small Los Angeles television station. Her job was to introduce the horror movie program called “Movie Macabre”.
It was a combination of Ms. Peterson’s fabulous looks coupled with a very alluring Vampira-like costume that launched a franchise. Today the Elvira costume is popular for all sorts of costume parties, horror events and conventions, and of course the big one of them all, Halloween.
