What Is Wu Yi Oolong Tea?

Wu Yi has mean different names, but it is all the same. It is known as Wuyi Oolong, oolong, or Wulong. Legend has it that is was created by accident by a farmer in the Fujian Mountains of China about 500 years ago. Since that time, it has become known for having excellent health benefits, including several types of polyphenals, with very high antioxidant properties. Wuyi Oolong is kind of a cross between a green and a black tea, giving it all the properties of a green tea, if not more, as well as the boldness in flavor of a black tea. You can find it at almost any health food store or you can order it online. Many of the chain grocery stores will not carry this type of tea. Just make sure the tea comes from East Asia.
