Traditional Mexican Costume
Mexican costume is very exciting and colorful – fantastic for any fancy dress event such as Halloween. There are lots of celebrations in Mexico and every one has a different costume. There are lots of costumes for specific dances like a flamenco costume, for example. It would make a great theme for a very colorful event.
A typical man’s attire is similar to European clothes but with the addition of a large blanket cape called a Sarape. Mexican boots are essential also.
Typical clothes for a woman are a huipil (a sleeveless tunic), a quechquémitl (a closed shoulder cape) and a rebozo (a shawl).
A great Mexican costume for Halloween is the Day of the Dead Bride outfit which is a kind of costumed skeleton.
