A simple reason why many people might want to build a hot tub instead of purchasing one from the store is to save money. If you get the right deal, you can save as much as seventy five percent or more of the total costs if you are willing to handle the construction and installation yourself.
Before you start anything, however, check the building codes in your community to ensure that you abide by them each step of the process, including calling the inspectors in to review your work when necessary. Also, some municipalities require that extensive electrical work be done by a licensed electrician which may add up to a couple of hundred dollars, depending on where you live.
