Best mma knockouts of all time

Mixed Martial Arts is the modern version of gladiators meeting to compare skills and heart. Very few sporting events pump up the adrenaline in both the athletes competing and the spectators watching, and this is most true when we witness a mma knockout.

The best mma knockouts over the years have been performed by the best mma athletes, obviously. The athletes with the best boxing skills account for many of them. Lately, probably the best mma fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, has increased his knockout ratio dramatically. This isn’t a coincidence, as he has most likely been refining his boxing over the last couple of years. And that has shown in some of the most famous knockouts of 2008 and 2009.

Other knockouts have happened by chance. Probably the best mma knockout of all times happened between two unknown fighters. A few seconds in to their match both threw a punch at the same time, resulting in both athletes being knocked out. It is funny AND disturbing at the same time.

As the popularity of mma grows we will see more and more highlight reels of top notch technique, blended in with courageous showings of heart. A sport that once was seen as nothing but barbaric street fighting has now gone main-stream, and more and more people understand the finesse involved. Not too many years from now we will most likely see boxing completely left behind by the sport of mma. Unfortunate for those who prefer the sweet science, but there probably won’t be many left that haven’t switched over.
