Dontcha Want Some Articles?

Headphones Volume Control

If you want complete escapism you need a pair of headphones volume control you will be immersed in anything you put on your ears, whether it is your favorite movie, let yourself float off with your music while you do the coach potato thing or watch something on TV very late at night while the other family members sleep undisturbed.

The ultimate is not only do the headphones need to have volume control they need to be wireless. Just think about how else can you be dancing wild from room to room if you are connected to the base unit? At times the old sayings that you have heard your parents say come true and this makes a whole lot of sense is that with headphones you get what you pay for, so when it comes to buying a headset for use with your home theatre system or audio gear, you need to look for both quality and comfort. The headphone’s primary purpose is to drown out surrounding noise in order to allow you to hear what you want.

Online Guitar Lessons

Online guitar lessons are a great way to learn guitar. Cheaper and more convenient than private studio lessons, the technology is now at a point where the difference in quality is nonexistent and actually has many advantages.

Many guitar instructors are limited to a certain style. With the better online courses the styles and musical genres are practically unlimited. There is no boredom factor involved either. Many students quit guitar lessons if their teacher doesn’t know the songs, artists or type of music they like. The top courses cover all the bases. If you don’t like certain musical styles, don’t play them and go on to something else more interesting.

American Idol 2010 Pants on the Ground

This year’s Season 9 American Idol contest is obviously not solely all about talent because it’s got its moments of sheer gumption and fun. And that was apparent when General Larry Platt showed up in Atlanta, GA to audition for the Season 9 American Idol contest.

He completely ignored the fact that at 62 he was way past the age requirement as did the judges who were willing to sit through the presentation of his original rap song names “Pant on the Ground.” Larry Platt sang his heart out while also dancing and the judges were at once amused and horrified.

Needless to say, the aging general did not make it to Hollywood but he has become an American Idol, nevertheless.

American Idol Judges – Who’s Your Favorite?

Are you ready for the American Idol Judges and Season 9? It’s going to be a great one with host Ryan Seacrest and judges Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi!
In addition to new American Idol Judge, Ellen DeGeneres (sorry Paula Abdul fans) there will be several guest judges throughout the season including Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry and Shania – big names for sure! We can’t wait for Simon’s answer to Ellen’s challenge to a dance-off!

FACT: The average American Idol audition last season lasted just 26 seconds!!

That’s not very long to leave a great impression. But some of the performers seem to manage doing this effortlessly in ways you’ve never thought of. If you’d like to learn these 4 easy techniques, we’d like to share some of those ways with you here. It’s really not that difficult to make it through the first round of American Idol auditions if you’re preparing a head of time and know what you’re doing – we’ll teach you how to do that! Maybe you can be the next sensation like General Larry Platt singing Pants On The Ground!

Tip 1: Understand how the early auditions work

You need to know exactly what the show is really all about even before you get there to stand in line to audition. This is a critical step – do your homework to make it through the very first audition.

This doesn’t mean just practicing your song! You need to know what to wear (and what NOT to wear), what to say to the judges without sounding cocky or hesitant, how to pick your song – it often comes down to song selection and much, much more. You need to understand that there’s a lot more to the first Idol audition than just getting up the courage to sing and understand what the judges are really looking for!

Acoustic Electric Guitars

For the longest time I had no idea what acoustic electric guitars were, and this is surprising to a lot of people I know because I am married to a guitar player. I know about electric guitars because there are ten different ones in my home, and I certainly have known about acoustic guitars because I have been around them my whole life. I owned own of my own before I ever met my husband. I had no idea that there was a combination out there, and this lead to a confusing moment in my life that I look back on now with laughter. A few years ago my husband was in two bands, and on of those bands played blues and country music. He wasn’t big on the country component, but he loved the blues music.

“What I’ve Done” by Linkin Park

Linkin Park’s humble beginnings started in 1996 when three high school friends formed their band Xero. The California natives recruited a few other band members and began recording and producing songs in a makeshift bedroom studio. Five years of changes and hard work paid off when they released their first album “Hybrid Theory” in October 2000. The album sold 4.8 million copies in the first year, and catapulted the band to world prominence.

“What I’ve Done” is the first single from Linkin Park’s third studio album, Minutes to Midnight. It was released in April 2007 and has charted as one of Linkin Park’s best songs to date.

Learning The Hal Leonard Guitar Method

Much like someone with a refined palatte can tell the difference between a cake made from scratch and one made from the pre-packaged pouch mentioned above. How can they tell a Hal Leonard guitar method guitarist from one who learned the instrument through other means? Honestly, I’m not enough of a musician myself to know. Some would say there’s a certain rigidness. Others say that it’s all in the solos and fills, which usually follow predictable ingrained patterns. Still others say it’s physical; the position of the hands on the fretboards and the way the guitarist gets into their phrases. It’s an interesting problem, then. If you want to learn the guitar, this is an easy and effective way to do so.

Groove To The Music Of The 80’s

Music in the 1980s was different than that which belonged to any other generation. It was about punk, style and rebellion. The music scene in the 1980s was ruled by soft rock and hip hop amongst other styles of music. Starting as a cult genre in America in the 1970s, many greatest hits of the 80’s were by Hip Hop and Rap artists. This movement was an important influence on pop music in general and on fashion and dance moves.

A lot of artists in the 80s at this time dispensed with the traditional guitar format and based records on synthesizers, drum machines and other electronic instruments. It was the time of young men and women with big hair and shoulder pads crouched over keyboards! In the UK, the New Romantics were bands with flamboyant outfits and band names.

Lyrics of Songs

As always we hope you enjoy and learn from our article about Lyrics of Songs thank you for taking time out of your busy day to read our articles.

There’s no doubt that lyrics are huge part of a song, excluding instrumentals. They’re the script of the song, they’re the words that get stuck in your head, and they’re the message that the song conveys. The quality of the lyrics of songs can vary. Some lyrics are the product of musicians spending hours putting the right words together, and other lyrics sound like they popped out of a random word generator. The worst is when lyrics are trying to be deep but they come out corny or trying to rhyme too hard. At least nonsensical lyrics don’t claim to be anything they’re not.

Ranking the 100 greatest guitarists

But Hendrix wouldn’t feel that way, because he seemed to get it: Music is not competition. How can you rank people that aren’t competiting with each other? Sure, you may like Jimmy Page better than Eric Clapton, but that doesn’t make the Clapton fan incorrect. It’s all just a matter of opinion.

So then, the idea of constructing a list of the 100 greatest guitarists is kind of a non-starter. Everyone has their favorites, everyone has those guitarists they dislike. Plus how do you work with someone like Pete Townsend? Townsend was without question an absolute master of the instrument, and an even better songwriter. But then something happened in the ’80s. Maybe he just got too old, maybe the drugs went to his head a little bit, maybe it was the alcohol – “Who Are You” for example, is a song he wrote about waking up on a doorstep in the Bowery after a night of hedonistic excess. Well, Townsend was unquestionably great. But then, seemingly overnight, he became a parody of himself, someone who wouldn’t be in shouting distance of the 100 greatest guitarists ever. Which Townsend do you rate
